Meet the Ogres

Me – aka: Miss Cinders – I am in my dirty 30′s – Sarcastic, cheeky, sensitive, creative, crazy, stubborn, loyal… that’s me in a few words. Living my childhood dream of being a Mum. I have 1 cat  “M the Cat” aka MTC, 1 budgie “Slayer” – she’s outlived 3 Husbands. My days consist of fighting the breeding washing, and a usually daily messy house… thanks to the five six feral kids – yes you read correct, you did just read five six kids. I’m an irregular blogger, I hate cooking, cleaning… anything domestic really – except the fun stuff like sewing. I love my computer and all things geeky, chocolate, ice-cream, caramel, peppermint, and I think vanilla is the most divine smell on Earth.. apart from that insanely gorgeous newborn smell. I am more scared of spiders than snakes, but prefer spiders in a way because spiders are easier to remove than snakes.

Ogre Dad – aka: Husband – aka: X – Just jumped into the naughty 40′s – Shy, hermit-fied – the guy so is not a social butterfly! Loyal, severely stubborn, absolutely insane if he knows and likes you enough to be totally himself with you. Father to 6, which he always wanted to be 9 – see insane! Very smart man when it comes to taking a car apart and putting it back together. Lover of his 1966 HR Premier station wagon that he’s hauled around for the past 18 years. He doesn’t like sweet stuff, but he could eat Mild Twiggy sticks until the next blue Moon. Hater of messy houses and ironing boards….

The One Called M – Ogre Dad’s first born, and the extra kid I gained. They say blood is thicker than water, they’re right. For a child who hasn’t lived with his Father for majority of his life, he is so like him and his siblings it’s not even funny! He’s a joker, loves to have fun with his mates, loves his girlfriend to bits, is loyal, honest, loving, and lives his life to the fullest he can.

BL #1 – Our firstborn – Mr athletic in his own right. Tall, lanky, long haired lout… your typical teenager. We left the bush to move here, but the bush didn’t leave him. He can be a hormonal drama queen better than any girl, and is one of the reasons I have grey hair already!!

TJ #2 – AKA: Gravel – Miss athletic who would rather play football than netball… and touch footy is not an option. She is opinionated, stubborn, a real bitch when she wants to be. But loyal, trustworthy and reliable no matter what. She and JW clash more than any of the other kids, I often wonder if it’s because they are so alike….

JW #3 – A creative mind with creative hands. Seriously lazy though… you have to be quick to bust him slying away if you ask for help cleaning up! He likes to be by himself drawing or creating most of the time… but he is seriously boisterous when he gets going. Loyal to his mates, cheeky to me, and the one that just needs to have the last word.

TEM #4 – She’s the little miracle we never thought would be here. The Princess of the pack. Daddy’s little girl, and Mummy’s little personality clasher! Sensitive, sweet, bossy… and addicted to Alice in Wonderland.. both the new and old versions!

BJ #5 – The tornado of Ogre Land, he can wipe out a whole day worth of cleaning in less that 5 minutes. Mummy’s little boy… demander of hugs, lover of anything with wheels, and master at manipulation.

TheSixth – She is the “Crab” to TJ’s “Jellyfish”. They have been best friends since Year 6. Crazy when you know her, quiet when you don’t. OCD cleaner when she’s stressed out. She’s addicted to Glee. And she holds BL’s heart. The one I inherited, found, collected, acquired in October 2012. As crazy as all the OgreKids, she fits in like she’s always been with us.

I love Ogre Land even if it does make me want to pull my hair out sometimes. I’ve learnt to find the things to be grateful for every day.  Sing to the world the good days, ask for help on the bad days… and most of all… just to be Me.

I am the Ogre Mum, and you just entered Ogre Land. This is my life, my Motherhood. Un-Sugarcoated.
